The main production areas

Five main regions of production


French production of web-footed birds is split among 95% of duck foie gras and 5% of goose foie gras.
Traditional stockbreeding is represented in the entire country but production is mostly located within five large regions where all industry players are gathered.
These regions are mainly situated where weather conditions are favourable to duck and goose breeding and where maize production, an essential resource for fattened web-footed bird feeding, is plentiful.
